Low-A Bradenton turns in the best pitching performance of the day in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization
The Low-A Bradenton Marauders improved to 17-19 on the season wit ha 4-0 victory over the Palm Beach Cardinals. By pitching a shutout, Bradenton’s pitchers turned in the best effort of the night in the farm system.
Carlos Jimenez started for the Marauders and continued to shove. After allowing 2 hits, issuing 3 walks and striking out 4 in 5 scoreless innings pitched, Jimenez has a 1.86 ERA o the season. He has also struck out 29 batters and has allowed just 2 home runs in 19.2 innings pitched.
Bradenton’s bullpen picked up right where Jimenez left off. Denny Roman allowed a hit in a scoreless inning pitched. Dante Mendoza struck out a pair in a 1-2-3 inning, and Cristian Charle recorded a strikeout in a scoreless 8th inning. 2020 draft pick Jack Hartman then finally made his MLB debut, walking a batter in a scoreless 9th inning pitched.
Tsung-Che Cheng was 1-for-5 with his 2nd triple of the season out of the leadoff spot, while Sergio Campana was 2-for-5 with 2 runs scored out of the two-hole. Rodolfo Nolasco went 1-for-5 with a RBI, while Jase Bowen, Alexander Mojica and Jakob Goldfarb all had a base hit as well.
