Pittsburgh Pirates Double-A affiliate suffers a tough loss

The Double-A Altoona Curve fell to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats 3-1. With the loss the Curve fell to 31-35 on the season. Carmen Mlodzinski started for the Curve, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits, 4 walks and 5 strikeouts in 5 innings pitched. Brad Case followed, allowing a run, which was unearned, on a hit,  walk and 4 strikeouts in 3 innings pitched.

Center fielder Matt Fraizer bat leadoff for the Curve. He was 1-for-4 with a walk. The lone hit that Fraizer had was a home run. This solo shot was Fraizer’s 4th home run of the season with the Altoona Curve.

Liover Peguero, Matt Gorski, Jared Triolo and Connor Scott combined to go 0-for-14 with a pair of walks. Blake Sabol started in left field, going 1-for-4 with a walk. Third baseman Andres Alvarez was 1-for-1 with 3 walks, and designated hitter Aaron Shackelford was 1-for-4.
