Neil Walker Speaks to Greg Brown

Neil Walker was the guest on Greg Browns’ Down on the Farm tonight. A few of his comments peaked my attention.

Feel about as good as I have ever felt. I continue to work hard to get back to Pittsburgh. It’s been interesting as one day I play outfield, then second base or third. But I know it will help me and the organization.

I think the toughest postion to play is second base. At second, there is so much going on and it takes awhile to figure out where you need to be in different situations. The physical side hasn’t been too difficult though.

I knew I was athletic enough (to play various positions.) I approached the opportunity with open arms. I knew it would help me, but it was a little bitter to swallow at first, but also it was something new and exciting. It was good for me. I just have to keep pushing forward and trying to improve. I need to focus on what I need to do to perform. There is still a lot of work to be done, but I feel like I am in a good place right now (in terms of his progress this season.)
