Pittsburgh Pirates fans have to be very happy when looking at four prospects in the Mesa Solar Sox lineup.   Andrew Lambo had two hits, scored, and drove in a run in his Arizona Fall League debut as the Mesa Solar Sox won their opener 8-3.   Lambo had a two out single in the second inning and scored on a double by Kirk Nieuwenhuis.

Jordy Mercer was the starting shortstop and batted ninth.  Mercer had a hit, but was also charged with two throwing errors.   Tony Sanchez showed a little rust as he made his return in the AFL lid lifter as can be expected.  Sanchez struck out twice including with the bases juiced in the big fourth inning for Mesa.    Sanchez did have a hit earlier in that big inning.

Josh Harrison was the DH and went 0-for-4 with an RBI and a strikeout.

Here is the box score. The rest of the recap is here.  The two teams will play again tonight.
