The Pittsburgh Pirates have the excellent arms, today the Bucs tried to get a solid catcher when they signed Kawika Emsley-Pai
The Pittsburgh Pirates have some excellent arms in the minor leagues. Now the ball team is trying to add a catcher that can grow with these pitchers as many of the Pirates young catchers have been unimpressive. Today, the Bucs signed Kawika Emsley-Pai, the Arizona Diamondbacks 10th round pick in the 2010 MLB June Amateur Draft.
It’s a head scratcher why the Diamondbacks gave up on the 5’11″ 195 backstop. He threw out 53 percent of the runners who tried to go and received a nice bonus of $70,000. He seems like another solid player from everything I read with some great teachers providing him instruction.

Another interesting article…points out that Emsley-Pai has already suffered a facial injury, a broken nose.
