Pirates Reds Preview: Show Marty Some Light Edition

facebooktwitterreddit

We aren’t fans of assholes.  Well unless it’s us.

This winter, the asshole Marty Brennaman came out.  Not that we should be surprised.  All of the motivation Clint Hurdle needs to turn around a young club that has dropped four of the past five games was provided this offseason.

This weekend should be the time to make the Reds pay for their announcers big mouth.

I hope it doesn’t happen actually, PNC Park would be a much better locale for us to enjoy it.

But we can’t say that’s how Clint Hurdle feels.

Thanks for filling up the bulletin board.

On the field this looks like a David and Golliath matchup.  The Reds put up big numbers on the scoreboard.  The Pirates, well, they haven’t lately.

Bronson Arroyo has pitched well against the Bucs.  Charlie Morton, well, he hasn’t pitched real well against the Reds.

So who do we like tonight?  The Pittsburgh Pirates who else.   The offense needs to comes to life against the sickly Bronson Arroyo.

Arroyo (2-0, 2.08 ERA), has went 5-1 with a 1.73 ERA in the last six versus the Pirates.   He gave up one unearned run in his outing against the Diamondbacks last Saturday.

Morton (1-0, 2.08), has a 7.18ERA in his last five against the Reds.

It has all the makeup of a blowout at Great American.

Thanks to Marty, it won’t be.

Here is all the background if you missed it… including the use of the word ‘queer’ in describing the Marshall President.

"“They’ve (Pirates) probably improved themselves, which means they’ll probably lose 97 games,” said Brennaman of the Pirates, who were 57-105 in 2010. “There’s no light at the end of the tunnel for that franchise. There really isn’t."
