Pirates killers like Roberts couldn't catch up to Hanranator last night...

Photos From Pittsburgh Pirates Dramatic Walkoff 3-2 Win Over Diamondbacks

Andrew McCutchen hit his second walkoff homerun of his career.

The franchise and I headed over to the game tonight on a whim.  We’re really glad we did.   He overloaded on cotton candy while I got to watch a never-say-die Pirates’ team reach a milestone in their 2011 season.

When Andrew McCutchen’s homerun landed in the left field seats, everyone exploded.

By the way, PNC Park is a cool place to watch a winner.

Paul Maholm was tremendous.

Maholm was on cruise control including this big strikeout of Xavier Nady

Hell, everyone that pitched for the Pirates did a nice job… well, everyone except Jose Veras.  The PNC faithful screamed that he sucked as he walked off the field with two Snakes on the bags.

Jose...Jose...Jose...next time big fella

Tony Watson was fresh from an Indy callup,  and his folks drove all night from Iowa to see him. He took care of the mess Veras left behind with some unbelievable pitching, striking out two.

Watson made Hurdle look like a genius or as Hurdle said a man playing with ‘live ammo’

This Watson strikeout of Young was monstrous for the left hander. Watson levitated back to the Pirates dugout after getting Miranda to whiff next.

Joel Hanrahan was ultra efficient and made Roberts look silly.

Daniel McCutchen took care of the rest.

Cocktailsfor2′s man-crush Jose Tabata had four hits.

We saw some sharp fielding from both the Pirates and the Diamondbacks.

Pittsburgh Pirates’ fans understand that this has been a long time coming.  In fact, the Pirates are 30-30 for the first time since June 11, 2005.  A season that ended with 95 losses by the way, so let’s not get too caught up in the .500 chase.

i was very impressed with Watson…he pitched both his batters to 3-2 and was still able to sit them down. I was happy to be on hand for his debut.

See you all tomorrow at the park, bring your brooms!

What a game. I said to myself from the beginning that Cutch was going to hit a homerun after hearing how the tv announcers were blowing up his BP perforance(he hit a ball off the Root Sports sign in the left feild stands). Great debut of Watson, I would really like to see more of the same and see more Moskos!!! Also kinda glad Harrison is going to get some more time at third. If we have enough speedy guys we can play small ball instead of long ball!!!

I’m with you on Harrison, he really doesn’t have much trouble making contact. I saw Silverio and Leyva both talking with him during the game. Their is some serious coaching of this kid going on which is really refreshing to see. Harrison also seems perceptive to it, much nodding and smiling.

The game thread on BD exploded when Watson whiffed his two batters, and again when Hometown tied it up, and AGAIN when All-Star-to-be Cutch stuck the knife in!

A never-say-die team, one that’s going to battle in these types of games all year.

P.S. – jealous you got to go to the game. Even on a whim.

Chris Resop really impressed me. He looked so freaking pissed off. What eight pitches or something….just an unreal door slammer on the snakes heads last night
