Kyle Starks

confirmed that the Pittsburgh Pirates second round pick from a year ago will begin his first season of professional baseball in Happy Valley.  We know that this is great news for Chuck Greenberg and the great guys at Medlar Field.

Allie will certainly draw crowds for Greenberg Sports Group and the Spikes, get your tickets now, the Spikes opener is just seven days away–Sunday June 19.  The combination of some serious talent with the Spikes stellar promotions calendar and gorgeous ballpark in State College the Spikes will break all of their attendance records in 2011.   Put it in your iPhone.

How cool is it that they are giving away first base–a tribute to Gary Robinson’s epic meltdown from last season?

The hard throwing right hander from Ohio has been able to work on his mechanics and repeat his delivery while in extended spring training.  Here is the  report from Jen Langosch on Stark confirming the news.

Video:  Allie talking about spring and getting to the bigs as fast as he can (You can see him bounce a one hopper to his catcher and he looks quite different from draft day)

From the Spikes website the team has an extensive list of potential teammates for Allie from the Bucs recent draft.
