Pittsburgh Pirates Trade Deadline Rumors: Bucs Can’t Hit Him, Get Him

The trade rumor buzz today was the Pirates are looking for relief help

Remember the Baltimore Orioles relief pitcher who baffled the Pirates?  Well, Neal Huntington does.  In case you don’t here is the video from that game.

Looking at the stats, Koji Uehara is one of the best relievers on the market.  The Pittsburgh Pirates are reportedly interested in getting him.

The O’s setup man gets $3 million this year, and has a vested $4 million dollar option for next season with 15 more appearances.  Sound good to you?  Sounds great to me for the right price. But it sounds opposite of a Huntington built bullpen.

Here are a few quick videos from YouTube to give you an idea what the relief pitcher can do.  The Bucs face competition, as one would expect, in acquiring the reliever.

Don’t need another righty in the ‘pen. Resop and Veras are doing quite well. Either we focus on a bat or stand pat (with the fellas coming off the DL).

Bucs need a 1B with a solid bat; anything else is wasting time, money and probably prospects. Unfortunately there’s not much available on the market right now. If that doesn’t change; better to stand pat and wait for reinforcements. I’m hoping NH doesn’t make a move just for the sake of making a move; I don’t think he will. Go Buccos !

I’m gonna disagree with the masses. I think at the right price this relieve would be a fantastic fit that can steal some games. I will welcome getting him. But on top of this they will still have to trade for a bat or address either or both 1b and ss
