Chicago Cubs 5, Derrek Lee 3

The Chairman

made his debut. Derrek Lee has arrived. It was insane. Two bombs. He didn’t even get all of one of them. Lee looked solid defensively at first base and appeared to fit right in with the Bucs clubhouse.

Although the Pittsburgh Pirates had ten hits and three walks, it wasn’t enough. Neil Walker and Pedro Alvarez helped the offense, but many opportunities were wasted and the Bucs have fell to five and a half back of the NL Central lead.

Zambrano was just enough to stay out of trouble.  And damn can he hit.

Paul Maholm allowed three straight hits to start the sixth inning. It would lead to three straight Chicago Cubs runs which was more than the Pirates offense could overcome.

The Bucs will get back on the winning track tonight at PNC Park. Write it down.   Bet those assholes at the water cooler ten bucks on it today.  Pedro looks comfortable.  Hometown is in a zone.

It’s fun to watch the offense start to come around, patience with this young team is what’s needed right now.   Fight the power.
