Pittsburgh Pirates Talent Comes Up Big in Arizona Fall League

pitched the third and fourth inning giving up one hit, a walk and getting a strikeout. Baker got his first win and lowered his ERA to 2.08. The left hander threw 29 pitches getting 17 strikes. He recorded three ground ball outs and a flyout.

Michael Colla picked up his first save after allowing no hits and a walk in the ninth inning for the Mesa Solar Sox. Colla recorded all three outs via ground balls.

Robbie Grossman had three more hits. Grossman had a line drive single in the first off Danny Hultzen who went three innings and gave up one run. The right fielder also had another single in the third and a double in the fifth. He also walked, scored a run, ground into a double play and was caught stealing.

Jarek Cunningham had two hits. Cunningham had a single in the fourth and a double to right field in the fifth inning that drove in two Solar Sox teammates.

Gerrit Cole gets his much anticipated first start today for Mesa.
