James McDonald Looks to Continue Dominance of Braves

James McDonald will be on the rubber when the Pittsburgh Pirates look to salvage a split with the Atlanta Braves.  You might remember McDonald’s last time out from the marquee in the photoshop as the right hander flirted with a no-hitter.

Unfortunately, JMac didn’t get the win.  He has pitched well in his four starts covering 22.2 innings this year, but his teammates have been able to scratch out just two runs.

Two.

One stat shows that McDonald should be able to keep up his success against Atlanta:  He has made four appearances against the Braves and holds a sparkling 0.81 ERA.

Left hander Mike Minor brings his 3.42 ERA to the bump tonight.  Minor has faced the Bucs last year and althought the Pirates lineup is vastly different he gave up just one run in 5.2 innings.  Minor comes into tonight after going six innings against the L.A. Dodgers where he gave up three runs in a no decision last Tuesday.
