The Pittsburgh Pirates are inquiring on several players as the ML Baseball Trading Deadline arrives. But this is the first we have heard of another team checking in on a Pittsburgh Pirates player.
Rob Biertempfel sent this tweet last night regarding Kevin Correia. The Pirates right hander is due to be a free agent at the end of the season. He lives in San Diego in the offseason.
"Rob BiertempfelCould RHP Kevin Corriea help stabilize back end of Angels’ starting rotation? Perhaps. #Pirates fans who were eager to jettison Correia after his 1-5 start probably feel differently now that he’s won his past four decisions. Angels and Bucs have discussed swap that would send a veteran pitcher to Cali in deal that would include a high-end prospect. Larry Corrigan, former Pirates special asst who now scouts for Angels, watched Corriea pitch tonite v. #Brewers @ Miller Park."
