Tony Sanchez Walks Off Cubs Thanks MLB Replay Flaws & Disruptions

The Pittsburgh Pirates won with another walk off against the Chicago Cubs.  Tony Sanchez ripped a 2-0 pitch into left field as the Bucs defeated the Cubs in 16 innings.

I am tired.

But I want to say I lost faith in Major League Baseball replay.  If you watched  the game, you understand the reason.  Just get the calls correct.  Jordy Mercer was off the bag, good stuff for baseball, bad for the Bucs, but the right call.

However, the baseball never hit Starling Martes’ bat.  This game shouldn’t have went this long.  ( How funny is it to watch Jeff Banister throw out the thumbs down as Hurdle stalls with the umpires?)

But anyway, this night was about many young Pirates players.

Congrats to Tony.

Congrats to Stolmy Pimentel.  The right hander picked up the Pirates shark tank in Mark Melancon and Jason Grilli who each allowed a run causing us to drink all of the beer in the fridge, all of the cheese, all of the ice cream and each and every one of the pretzel sticks in the pantry.

Congrats to Tony Watson for another scoreless inning. Watson has allowed something like three runs in the past 40 some innings.

Congrats to Charlie Morton.

But most of all congrats to all of those Pirates fans who stuck around to see this victory.
