Milledge Adjustments Paying Dividends

Lastings Milledge continued his mission of letting the Pirate front office know he is ready to play in the big leagues.

JR said in an interview yesterday that the coaching staff has found some things that will help Lastings in the long run.  He has made a few adjustments and is having success.

No rush.

No urgency.

Milledge had his streak of FOUR multi-hit games halted yesterday.  Check out the tear Milledge has been on lately:   two for three, two for three, three for four, four for six.  He also has walked three times, and driven in five runs.  His OPS is sick at 1.238

Sweet.  Bring him up already!

The team is dying for offense.  Take a look at the recent production.  If this keeps up, the team will surely bring up Milledge and have him start getting at bats since Freddy and Jack have declined the Pirates offers, moves seem imminent.  Perhaps Jones will move to first, but in the meantime check out the players below and where Milledge could steal some at bats.

Eight hits Sunday against the Giants, nine strikeouts by the team. Vazquez (pinch hitting for Jack Wilson with the game on the line–nice message JR), Salazar and  Young did not produce in pinch hit roles.  “At least we still have Brandon Moss” went yard and was 1 for 4.

Six hits Saturday against the Giants, Salazar struck out leaving two men on base in PH role.

Six hits Friday against the Giants, Ramon Vazquez and Salazar 0 for 2 in PH roles.  Moss 1 for 3.  14 strikeouts.
