Huge Start for Pirates Ross Ohlendorf

The Pittsburgh Pirates will send big righthander Ross Ohlendorf to the mound tonight

against the Reds. The 27 year-old pitcher has only made one other start this season after a rocky spring training. In Bradenton, Ohlendorf went 0-3 and allowed 24 runs (21 earned) in 19.2 innings pitched.

In his only start this season (0-0; 3.60ERA) he went five innings against the Dodgers. He gave up four hits, two earned runs, walked three and struck out one. Ohlendorf was the vocal one this off season at PiratesFest. He looked like the mouthpiece for the team on numerous occassions.

The Reds are coming off two series wins in their homestand against the Cubs and Mets taking two of three in each. The Reds have won nine of their last 13 games.

How will the Bucs bullpen combat this? The Reds are the cardiac kids this season winning nine games in the last at-bat.

Bronson Arroyo takes the mound for the Reds. He gave up five runs against the Bucs on April 18. Ronny Cedeno has seven strikeouts in 18 at-bats against Arroyo. Ryan Church is 5-for-13 with 5 RBI, but Church is sidelined with a sore wrist.

Arroyo also has a CD for sale: Covering the Bases. He is donating half of the money to the Reds Community Fund. Check him out below, and as always Keep on Rocking in the Free World, RumBunter faithful.
