P-O Cruises To State Finals Behind Rex

The Philipsburg-Osceola Mounties took another step toward a state title with a 10-0, five inning win over District Ten champion Wilmington.    I trust you remember our post on Emily and her connection with the Mounties.  Emily is doing better especially after her cousin Chelsea Rex throw a one hitter to put the Mounties in the state finals on Friday at Shippensburg.

In the state playoffs, Rex has thrown 19 innings.  She has struck out 27 batters.   Yesterday, Rex threw ten pitches to strike out the side in the first inning.  Her Mountie teammates needed 13 pitches to make it 3-0.  It only took eight pitches in the second inning for Rex and the rout was on.  The Rex perfect game was broken up in the fourth with a slap single as the Mounties continue to dominate the competition this season.  In playoff action, the P-O squad has outscored opponents 35-2.

Rex is 15-1 with 175 strikeouts in 109 innings pitched with a 0.90ERA.

Can we be greedy and ask for one more win this season, please Chelsea?
