Do you want the good news or the bad news?
The good news is despite being thumped early last night the Pirates didn’t roll over. They kept hitting. In fact, Pedro Alvarez hit a triple. We have proof from Hawkatbat below.
The bad news? Well that would take a while. But here is, dare we say, the worst news. The Pittsburgh Pirates were rocked and gave up nine runs on ten hits that including a three-run home run that was tip drilled over the fence by Alex Presley. (And that all happened in just one inning of a 13-4 rout)
Here is a link to the video on the Bucs site in which Hurdle discusses Ohlendorf and his struggles.
Hurdle said he will go back and look at the tape to see if there is something he missed with Ross ‘easy to get the barrel to’ Ohelendorf. The right hander really struggles getting through a lineup the second time around. It’s been that way for a while and Ross has now lost 15 consecutive games. Last night his velocity once again was really off which can only tell me one thing.
The big Texan once threw the ball at 94-95 when he rolled into Pittsburgh. He has seriously lost that velocity and has really missed on his movement.
