The Pirates may have lost to the Braves last night, but there was great news flying around the NL Central as the game went on. The news had nothing to do with the Pirates, but will definitely benefit them, as the report claimed Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun will be suspended for being involved in the Biogenesis of America clinic in the Miami area, which ultimately has to do with the use of banned substances.

Alex Rodriguez is another player reported to be busted in this, along with other players throughout the MLB such as Nelson Cruz, Yasmani Grandal, Melky Cabrera, Bartolo Colon, Francisco Cervelli, Jesus Montero, Evereth Cabrera, Fernando Martinez, and Jhonny Peralta. Grandal, Cabrera, and Colon have already served suspensions in the past, and this would be the second time they have been suspended.

The biggest name on this list is obviously Braun. Pirate fans are loving this, considering the fact that Braun is a main guy brought up when you think of Pirate killers. He’s already weaseled his way out of two suspension possibilities, and it doesn’t look like he’ll be sneaking his way out of this one.

The suspensions have not been issued yet, and there aren’t as many details out there as fans would like to read, but this is certainly great news for Pirate fans, as they won’t have to face Braun anytime they play the Brewers throughout his (most likely) 50-game suspension.

Personally, I didn’t think the Brewers season could get much worse, and this will obviously be the headline of a miserable 2013 campaign for the Brew Crew.
