After the Pittsburgh Pirates lost in game five of the National League divisional series playoff last season at Busch Stadium, I was pissed off.  I wasn’t sad like when the Steelers lose the Super Bowl.  Most everyone knew the Pirates had what it took to beat the St. Louis Cardinals.  Especially after having them on the ropes, up two games to one with game four in Pittsburgh.

We spent the off season wondering what would be done to improve the Pirates.  The team signed Edinson Volquez.  We started his fan club.  And that was the biggest move that the team would make.  Nothing at the trade deadline.  Nothing at the waiver deadline.

Just a strong belief in themselves.

Now it appears there could be a few more #BLACKOUT nights headed to PNC Park to play one of the hottest teams in Major League Baseball.

Throughout the Pirates champagne celebration last night, you heard it over and over again.   The Pirates know what lies ahead.  The team has business to take care of this October.  The youngsters are growing up and simply being at the dance is no longer enough for this team.

‘We aren’t done,’ was said a few times.

Also used was the popular, ‘there is still business to take care of this year.’

There certainly is.  Please remember the sting of these pictures from the NLDS and erase them away.
