This team will never quit

They are truly the Battling Buccos of 2019.

Friday night, the Bucs trailed 6-1 entering the bottom of the 9th inning. This did not stop the team from putting up 5 runs to tie the game. Even though the lost the game in 10 innings, they’re incredible rally should not be overlooked.

Sunday afternoon, there was a 40 minute rain delay. Following the rain delay, Pirate starter Joe Musgrove returned for the 6th inning. After pitching a scoreless 6th, Musgrove allowed a game-tying home run in the 7th inning.

Despite this, the Bucs never gave up. Francisco Liriano took over for Musgrove in the top half of the 7th inning and finished the inning off. After this, the offense took over.

Bryan Reynolds, who may or may not be the second coming of Jesus, hit a 3-run home run in the bottom half of the 7th. This put the Pirates ahead 6-3 and it was a lead they never gave up.

This team battles. They’ve done it all season. It continued against the Brewers. Teams that fight like this are nearly impossible to kill, and that should excite Pirate fans entering the season’s second half.
