According to multiple reports the Pittsburgh Pirates are trading second baseman Adam Frazier to the San Diego Padres

Major League Baseball’s trade deadline is this Friday, July 30. Between now and Friday the Pittsburgh Pirates are expected to be among the most active sellers in all of baseball. This is in large part due to the Pirates having some of the best pieces available on the trade market.

One of these trade pieces is All-Star second baseman Adam Frazier. There is a strong argument to make that Frazier is the best hitter who was available at this trade deadline. Now, according to multiple reports, Frazier is on the move.

According to reports Frazier is being traded to the San Diego Padres. While ESPN’s Jeff Passan first reported this deal, Robert Murray of FanSided, and friend of the Rum Bunter Podcast, is reporting that the Pittsburgh Pirates will receive three players in exchange for Frazier. The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal began to report who the players in the deal were.

Frazier is having a career year and should be a big boost for the Padres. On the season Frazier is hitting for a .324/.388/.448 slash line to go with a 130 wRC+, all of which are career highs. Frazier also leads all of Major League Baseball with 125 hits and is not a free agent until following the 2022 season.
