Low-A Bradenton gets a shutout victory

Following a 4-0 victory over the Lakeland Flying Tigers the Low-A Bradenton Marauders improved to 21-26 on the season. Leading the way for the Marauders in their victory was another shove session by starting pitcher Joelvis Del Rosario.

Del Rosario did not walk a batter, allowed 5 hits and struck out 7 in 6 scoreless innings pitched. On the season Del Rosario now owns a 2.78 ERA to go with 36 strikeouts in 35.2 innings pitched. Del Rosario is quickly become a person of interest in the Pirate farm system.

Cristian Charle, Dante Mendoza and Nick Mears each followed Del Rosario with a scoreless innings pitched. Mendoza and Mears each struck a batter out, it was good to see another strong rehab outing from Mears as he works his way back from starting the season on the injured list.

Center fielder Sergio Campana was at the top of Bradenton’s lineup, going 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored. Rodolfo Nolasco was 2-for-3 with his 3rd home run of the season, 2 walks and 3 RBI to raise his OPS on the season to .626.
