Dodgers Rip Pirates 6-2

The Pirates got drilled by the Dodgers in MannyWood. Daniel McCutchen just couldn’t stay out of trouble and allowed four runs in five innings.   Andy LaRoche had a couple hits while Ryan Doumit and Ramon Vazquez got the RBI for the Bucs.

LA native Delwyn Young headed back home, but didn’t play as he has back spasms.  Ugh.  Here is the recap in DY’s LA Times.  They call the Pirates lowly and make hot dog jokes (another newspaper that doesn’t like promotions) before saying the Dodgers can’t take the Bucs for granted.  Heh, thanks JAMES.

The Pirates play the Dodgers six more times, twice in LA and then in Pittsburgh.

McPherson heads to Instructional League in Bradenton today along with Marte, Grossman, Hernandez, Owens, Moskos, and many others.  Formal workouts begin Wednesday and you can find more information here.

The Lynchburg Hillcats rolled tonight 9-2 and take a 1-0 lead over Salem in the Mills Cup Championship. Here is the recap and the impressive box score  that shows 12 hits for Lynchburg including De Los Santos 3-for-3 night at the plate.

So I am thinking this horrible 14 losses in 16 games skid can be broken with something all guys need, especially in times like these..since the Body Shop burnt down, the Pirates need to get to a honky tonk in Mexico…just watch.

God I miss L.A.
