The Pittsburgh Pirates Opening Day Festivities will include:

*Rocco DeMaro broadcasting live from the Federal Street Studio.  Turn on 104.7 to listen to his season preview as you drive to the game and also at your tailgate.  He has all the big names for interviews during three hours of coverage starting at 10am.

*Tailgates will be everywhere, so make sure you show up early and make your rounds.

*You will receive the magnetic 2010 Pirates schedule when you enter the stadium.

*Andrew McCutchen will receive a standing ovation when he is presented his Baseball America award from Frank Coonelly and Neal Huntington.

*President Frank Coonelly will present the 2010 Pride of the Pirates award to a member of the organization. It is given annually to someone who has demonstrated sportsmanship, dedication and outstanding character during a lifetime of service to the organization.  Previous winners include Steve Blass, Elmer Gray, and Guy Buzzelli, Jr.

*A color guard consisting of local members and leaders of the Boy Scouts of America will take the field, unfurling the American flag in centerfield to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts.

*The ceremonial first pitch is also celebrating its 100th year and the pitch will be thrown by sisters Jamie and Ali McMutrie. The Pittsburgh-area women made national headlines this year when they transported 53 Haitian orphans to Pittsburgh after the earthquake.  And a few days later brought home the 54th Haitian orphan.  The heroes are now working to erect a new facility outside the Haitian capital.

*Native Pittsburgher and recording artist Sarah Marince will sing God Bless America.

*Nine-year-old Jackie Evancho will perform the national anthem.

*A moment of silence will be taken to honor the members of the Pirates family that passed away during the past year; those include Jim Bibby, Bobby Bragan, Robert Dillinger, Paul La Palme, Jack Phillips, George Strickland and Jim Waugh.
