The Pittsburgh Pirates go for eight straight over the Chicago Cubs today in Wrigley.   The Pirates have been fast starters against the Cubs this year, scoring at least one run in the first inning in each of the five games.  A win today would give the Pirates eight straight over the Cubs going back to last season.  It was 1990 when the Bucs could say that they took eight in a row from the Cubs.

The Bucs have scored 32 runs and hit six homeruns in the five games against the Cubs this year.  Ross Ohlendorf will pitch against the Cubs Ted Lilly

Cutch is Clutch:  Andrew McCutchen is 11-for-14 against the Cubs with nine runs scored and five RBI.  He has reached base safely in 9 of his last 10 at-bats.  He is hitting .343 which is good for fifth in the NL.  His 12 steals lead the NL.

Swing and Miss:  The Pirates relievers lead the league in strikeouts.  Evan Meek has 26 in 24IP, Joel Hanrahan has 21 in 14IP, Octavio Dotel has 22 in 15.1IP.
