The Pirates Aren’t Road Warriors

Jose Tabata and Lastings Milledge are destroying baseballs

like Hawk and Animal racked up victories in pro wrasslin’.  Tabata is doing his best impersonation of hatchet man Lastings Milledge too.  Since his arrival in the big leagues on June 9,  Tabata is .333 (8-for-24) with runners in scoring position.  He has played 31 games.   His arrival in the bigs seems to have been a spark for Milledge, but maybe it’s just make believe.  All along Lastings has said he gets off to slow starts.

In the past five games, Tabata has three doubles, four walks and has driven in two runs while collecting eight hits in 19 at-bats.  Tabata also has swiped eight bases since being called up.

In the past five games for Milledge, he has matched Tabatas average by also banging eight hits in 19 at-bats.  Since sliding over to RF, Milledge has 26 hits in 68 at-bats.

Notes:  Scott McCauley tweeted that Hayden Penn is on his way to Japan.  He also said, another Indy pitcher is close to a deal.  Unsure what that means.

The Pirates have gone 6-6-1 in home series. The Pirates have won six of their last eight at PNC Park.  But on the road, the Bucs are 3-12-1. Wow.  Ohh, what a rush.  Hit it Hawk.
