The Cincinnati Reds are coming to town and Josh Harrison is outta town. The Pittsburgh Pirates have recalled outfielder Alex Presley from Triple-A Indianapolis.
Presley has seriously struggled against left-handers while at Triple-A Indy, but has performed well against right-handers. Check out the projected staff of the Reds this weekend, and whola welcome back Alex!
It doesn’t hurt that in his past ten games, Presley has three doubles, a triple and a homer to add up to his .843 OPS in those past ten games. On the season Presley has an 852 OPS against right handers, but a .606 against southpaws.
When looking at the numbers for Presley the 30 strikeouts in just over 150 at-bats stands out, but 23 walks is nice to see this season. Nine steals while being thrown out three times makes more sense as well.
It was rather comical hearing that Josh Harrison was speedy on the telecast last night. Harrison got a two-strike hit, but it’s nice to see the infatuation with the spark plug ended early this season.
Harrison simply doesn’t get on base enough for us. Presley didn’t either last season, so keep an eye on the always intense Presley to try and make the most of this opportunity.
Chase d’Arnaud has also been recalled and optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis. Look for a decision on John McDonald to be forthcoming in the next couple days. That should be interesting.
