Bucs Reds Polish Night/Singlefest

22,000 for Polish Night and fireworks by Zambelli.  The Reds and Bucs had a single filled slugfest for the pieroge loving fans.

HIGHLIGHTS FOR RUMBUNTER:

Ross Ohlendorf busts two bats with his two seamer in the first inning. He allowed one base runner when he didn’t let Joey Votto beat him as he kept him all inside except on 0-2 when gave him one pitch to hit an 89 mph heater that he fouled off.

The Bucs started the same way as last night as Nyjer Morgan and Freddy Sanchez led off with singles which brought up Nate McLouth who blistered one past Brandon Phillips that scored Nyjer. Later in the inning after a LaRoche walk and a Brandon Moss popout Andy LaRoche was drilled with a Micah Owings high heater bringing home Sanchez.  With the bases still loaded Ramon Vazquez, giving Bixler the night off, knocked a full count inside fastball into left field for a two run single.

Freddy’s 11th multi-hit game of the season.

Another web gem by 3B LaRoche was witnessed by Jamie and PJ from the third base line. Thanks for the pic Jamie. Dork.

Moss made up for it in the third when he smacked an RBI single into right field. A BIG RBI.

In the top of the fourth, Alex Gonzalez dented the left field foul pole for a three run homer on a first pitch slider.

Prior to Big Ben striking one, Nate threw a rope that 3B LaRoche dropped in a bang bang play, it might have made the homer a two run shot.

How about Ohlendorf?  Six innings AGAIN.  Who did we trade for him again?  Oh, yeh nobody wants to talk about that anymore.  Love it.

Sean Burnett is quietly having another solid season.  One run in what 12 innings?

Bottom of the sixth, Delwyn Young turned on Owings last pitch of the night for a pinch-hit double into the right field corner. Can we give Young a start sometime soon JR?

Great bunt Nate.

Even better hustle Nyjer. Setting up the eighth run on a Sanchez sacrifice.

Matt Capps.  Hadn’t appeared in a game in eight days. How many seeing eye base hits were in that ninth inning?  Gotta love a strikeout to end the game.  Gonzalez too.  Even better.
