An Old Familar Face Leads Rockies to Victory

The Pirates lost to Jim Tracy’s surging Colorado Rockies 7-3 last evening.   Ross Ohlendorf gave up 6 runs in 5 innings for the loss. The loss has the Bucs 6.5 games back in the NL Central.

Andrew McCutchen is doing his job so well, I wonder how much better he can get?  Another double.  Another triple.  Another RBI.   If Nyjer can bust out of this slump, 0-for-4 last night, we could really have something as Freddy Sanchez went 2-for-4 again for the Bucs.

Tracy told the PG’s DK that the Pirates need talent in this interview.He also feels ‘the Rockies are a good baseball team,’ so much so that he says it twice.

Robinzon Diaz.  The defense looked rough last night kid. Six passed balls now.  Ugh.

I got Rocco DeMaro’s Twit last night….Monroe DFA. Pearce up tomorrow. Let the speculation begin.
Steve Pearce it’s been a little while since we’ve seen you!  We have this feeling that we are going to be seeing a lot of you as this season moves along.

Pearce had batted .277 with 11 HR and 43 RBI for Indianapolis before the call-up. However, in the past 10 games, Pearce is batting .333 with 5 HR. He didn’t have a great start this season, but he is really killing the ball now.

Pearce, 26, was the 2007 Minor League Player of the Year.  He has 60 career games for the Pirates and is batting .266 with 4 HR and 21 RBI in 177 AB.

In Rob Neyer’s Sweet Spot, he suggests the Bucs should not hold on to Ryan Doumit for four more years, or even four more weeks.

Didn’t the Pirates already do bone grafts on Sano to prove his age?  More importantly, can someone tell me what the hell a bone graft is?  Sounds awful painful.  MLB is looking into Sano’s age at the request of the Twins. One question, if this 6’3″ next coming of HRam or ARod can rake, do you care if he might be 18?  19?

And if he lied about his age and gets caught, will there be a delay in his signing eligibility?  My candle is lit.
