The Pittsburgh Pirates rule the universe.  The Bucs kept the LA Dodgers from earning a playoff spot.  Well the Dodgers had much to do with it as they gave the Bucs three unearned runs when they couldn’t turn double plays.

Flashes of play like this keep 20,000 coming to the park.  It keeps us watching and gives a glimmer of hope for next season.

The Pirates are going to be contenders.  Well, maybe not, but they certainly aren’t as bad as they have been playing.

This guy at TrueBlueLA was blue about it.

Every Pirate had a hit with the exception of Ryan Doumit. (Did you know…Doumit has a monster line in his past 70 PAs heading into the game last night?  .349/.414/.460/.875)

Donnie Veal earned his first major league victory.  He also earns big points with his sacrifice bunt in his first big league at-bat.

Five Pirate bullpen pitchers shut down the Dodgers for most of the night limiting them to seven hits, no walks, and one run.
