The Pirates off season pursuit of pitching
help has begun. RumBunter is still waiting for someone that looks like they could truly improve the team. The Pirates bullpen is a glaring weakness.
Here is some proof. The Pirates were 11-42 when the starter goes less than six innings pitched. The Pirates were putrid late in games. Especially in the eighth inning being outscored 96-51. Deeper yet, the Pirates were outscored 173-112 after the seventh inning.
If you’re still interested in what the Pirates are doing to improve the bullpen, here you go.
Jamey Wright is a right handed pitcher for the KC Royals. He shouldn’t be an actor. The PG via Twitter says the Pirates are interested in the Royals pitcher. Wright spent some time with Texas where he suffered from being overused. But heh, he can make homemade cracker jack. Here is Wright on a segment of Joes and Pros.
There is also talk about Justin Duchscherer circulating in the local paper. Here is an interesting story about his depression. Let’s trust he can be back in MLB. RumBunter would not be interested in seeing him pitch in Black and Gold, but heh, what do we know?
