Rosenthal reports that the Pirates have inquired on Kevin Youkilis, Chase Headley, and Bryan LaHair.
Youk is hitting .231 with four home runs and 13 RBI in 121 at-bats. He has an OBP of .314 and is slugging .372 for a .686OPS.
Headley is hitting .273 with seven bombs and has driven in 30 runs. He has an OBP of .383 and is slugging .444 for an .827OPS. Headley has walked 38 times, good for fourth.
LaHair is performing well with a .310 average to go with 12 bombs. His OBP is 391 and is slugging like a man at .589 for a .980OPS. He also has 23 walks.
No thanks on Youk. No thanks on LaHair. Headley might interest me, but I’m not sure how serious these talks were so early in the season, keep Headley in mind as the deadline moves forward.
Currently Headly is seventh in times on base after reaching 98 times this season and is rocking a 2.4 WAR. Headley can back it up with his glove at the hot corner as well. Headley is the assists leader among NL 3B with 118 this year. He has made just four errors at third, good for 4th fewest among third basemen.
Guess what? He won’t come cheap.
