Reports: Ronny Cedeno To St. Louis Cardinals Rumors Heat Up

facebooktwitterreddit

It appears the rumors circulating about former Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Ronny Cedeno are picking up steam.  The St. Louis Cardinals have a hole at short as Rafael Furcal is recovering from a torn elbow ligament.

Today Rick Hummel reported that  reports from Venezuela say that Cedeno will be headed to St. Louis.

Of course the Cardinals family is suffering from the passing of Donoras’ own Stan The Man Musial and GM John Mozeliak would not make announcements in respect to the Musial family.

It’s an interesting move if the Cards go with Cedeno considering they went down the stretch with rookie Pete Kozma who hit well until his defense blew up in the NLCS.

Cedeno was quite the entertainer in Pittsburgh where he put up his biggest season as a pro back in 2010.  We wrote this post calling Cedeno the most dangerous man on the Pirates roster when he lead the bench clear against the Brewers a few years ago, and it’s safe to say quite a few people still have fun with the #staythirsty hashtag.

It’s hard to say how Cedeno will react to being in the town built by Budweiser.  Cedeno always hit well against the soft tossers, hence we wish God speed upon Gerrit Cole and Jameson Taillon.

It was fun seeing Cedeno play against the Bucs occassionally against the Mets.  Seeing him on a regular basis could really suck.

Stay Thirsty my friends.
