The Pittsburgh Pirates will send Kyle McPherson to the mound tonight against well…ummm…not exactly the Opening Day lineup of the Baltimore Orioles. So we fully expect a Bucs blowout. Maybe.
The Orioles lineup we anticipate will be
Alexi Casilla at short
Ryan Flaherty at second base
Wilson Betemit at the hot corner
Jason Pridie will serve as the designated hitter…somehow
Travis Ishikawa will be at first base
Trayvon Robinson will be in left
Chris Dickerson will be in right field
Jose Gil will be bhind the dish
and Xavier Avery will be in center.
On the mound for the Orioles will be Wei-Yin Chen. The O’s left-hander made his spring debut after quite a wait and tossed two shutout innings against the Rays. Buck Showalter has been taking it easy on his starters to pace them due to the longer spring training this season.
Chen filled up the zone against the Rays with 17 of his 23 pitches going for strikes.
The Orioles will also throw Brian Matusz, Tommy Hunter, Daniel Schlereth and Troy Patton at the Bucs lineup which in case you cant see it is filled with right handed sticks with the exception of Petey.
Starling Marte in center field which is always fun to see
Jose Tabata will get a start in left field
Neil Walker will be batting third and playing second
Pedro Alvarez looks to bust loose from the cleanup spot against a tough lefty in Chen.
Gaby will play first
Brandon Inge will take the designated hitter spot for the night
Jerry Sands gets a start in right field
Michael McKenry is behind the plate
Clint Barmes will bat eighth and play short.
McFear gets the start. We expect great things.
