The Pittsburgh Pirates completed a sweep of the Los Angeles Angels today. Pretty awesome stuff. A great weekend, and I had to make a video to recap the sweep over the Angels.
Tony Sanchez’s debut, Duke Welker’s debut, Pedro Alvarez’s unbelievable power streak, Gerrit Cole’s third consecutive victory, and a ridiculous comeback this afternoon are some of the main headlines of the memorable weekend. I know the Angels are ten games under .500, but they were easily one of the favorites in the American League at the start of the season, and their payroll is over twice as much as the Pirates.
It was a truly memorable weekend for Bucco baseball, and they are currently sixteen games over, which is as high as they were at any point last season. So enjoy it while it lasts, and hope that they aren’t going to fade away like we saw last year, and the year before that.
