Blasting home runs and ripping piss rockets at targets including a human sphere sound like a good time? Alex Dickerson thought so as he topped 30 of the best Arizona Fall League prospect to take home the NL title in the inaugural Bowman Hitting Challenge last night at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick.
The competition, is like the All-Star Game Home Run Derby but with a few really cool twists. It included one slugger from each Major League team that is currently playing in the AFL. Yankees catcher Peter O’Brien was the AL champ.
O’Brien took the AL crown with 1,575 points, while Dickerson had 1,300 points to win the NL crown. Seven of the top 100 prospects in the game were at the competition
