It’s pretty awesome to see the swing path over and over again. Little did we know that in Polanco’s first at-bat of Spring Training he would club this monster bomb.
The Pirates are going to make the call for their 2013 Minor League Player of the year at some point this season. Should he continue to hit balls like lasers, it will seem that he is ready to go to Philly with the ballclub at the end of March. But the last thing the Bucs are going to do is rush the player that is considered the 13th-best prospect in baseball. Especially when Polanco who hasn’t even taken ten at-bats at the Triple-A level.
We think when the call is made, it will be a one way trip to Pittsburgh. Similar to Andrew McCutchen who got the call after Nate McLouth was traded. Cutch made an impact in his debut in front of a huge walk up crowd at PNC Park and has never looked back. Starling Marte crushed a homer in Houston that nobody will forget.
Now, the 22-year old Polanco is showing us that he has a flair for the dramatic as well. We ccould watch Gregory Polanco hit this homerun, his first Spring Training bomb, a million times.
