Arizona Fall League recap.

The Arizona Fall League is underway and Dan Gamache is making his presence known.  The Pittsburgh Pirates have many players with higher name recognition in the AFL, but only one has a hit in each game he has played and that is Gamache.

After batting at the bottom of the lineup on Friday, Gamache was in the three hole and back at second base for the Scottsdale Scorpions last night.  At the plate, Gamache grounded out to drive in a Scorpions run, reached on an infield error, and was caught looking in the fifth inning–which is the first time he has gone down on strikes in 10 at-bats.  But in the seventh, the Auburn alum had an infield single to keep his streak alive.

Gamache has doubled, homered and singled now in three starts for Scottsdale.  The ultra sample size OPS is 1.117.  With two outs in the ninth, Gamache walked to reach base for the second time and the Scorpions went on to eek out a 7-6 victory over Surprise in the tenth.
