Class-A West Virginia Power

The West Virginia Power went 5-2 over the last week and currently have a three-game winning streak. They went 2-1 while visiting the Lakewood BlueClaws. Then, the Power completed a three-game sweep on the road at the Delmarva Shorebirds.

South Atlantic League Northern Division standings:

Hickory Crawdads – 34-16

West Virginia Power – 30-20

Hagerstown Suns – 25-25

Lakewood BlueClaws – 24-25

Kannapolis Intimidators – 24-26

Delmarva Shorebirds – 23-27

Greensboro Grasshoppers – 21-29

Players that stood out:

Michael Suchy had seven hits, including a home run and five RBIs, scored six times, walked six times, and had zero strikeouts this week.

Jerrick Suiter is now batting .325. He scattered ten hits, including a home run, and collected seven RBIs this week.

Elvis Escobar saw his average climb to .285 this week while collecting 12 hits and six RBIs and scored six runs.

Connor Joe had three hits Sunday and raised his average to .200.

Austin Coley leads the team with six wins and 48 strikeouts.

Stephen Tarpley, as you may remember from the Travis Snider trade, picked up two wins this week. In ten innings of work, he had nine Ks while allowing 12 hits. After just two starts, his ERA sits at 0.90.

A look at next week:

The Power return home to host the Greensboro Grasshoppers for a three-game series to start the week before going on the road to face the Rome Braves for four games.
