Short Season A West Virginia Black Bears
The West Virginia Black Bears will get the season started on Friday, June 19th at Monongalia County Ballpark near Morgantown, West Virginia. The Black Bears open the season with a three-game weekend home stand with the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.

Bill Brink of the Post-Gazette reports that First Round Pick Kevin Newman will report to Morgantown to play for the Black Bears.
Newman will report to the short-season West Virginia Black Bears, new New York-Penn League affiliate. Their season begins Friday.
