Short Season A West Virginia Black Bears

The West Virginia Black Bears started their inaugural season off Friday night with a 15-7 loss to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers. The second game of the season on Saturday night was a washout. They made it up with a double-header on Sunday. When playing a double-header in the minor leagues, typically each game is only seven innings long. In the first game, the Black Bears came from behind to win 5-4 in the bottom of the 7th inning. In the second game, the Black Bears won 3-2.

New York-Penn League Pinckney:

Auburn Doubledays – 3-0

Williamsport Crosscutters – 3-0

West Virginia Black Bears – 2-1

Mahoning Valley Scrappers – 1-2

Batavia Muckdogs – 0-3

State College Spikes – 0-3

A Look At Next Week:

The Black Bears head to Williamsport for three games with the Crosscutters. Then, they continue the season’s first road trip with three games at the Auburn Doubledays. Finally, they return home to begin a three-game series with the Hudson Valley Renegades.
