Double-A Altoona Curve

The Altoona Curve went 4-4 over the last week. The Curve took three of four from the Erie SeaWolves in Altoona. Then the Curve headed to Akron for a four game series with the RubberDucks. The Curve took the first game before dropping the final three games of the series.

Eastern League West Division standings:

Bowie Baysox – 55-45

Richmond Flying Squirrels – 53-47

Altoona Curve – 54-48

Akron RubberDucks – 53-49

Harrisburg Senators – 50-52

Erie SeaWolves – 39-61

Players that stood out:

RHP Tyler Glasnow picked up a win and a loss this week. On Tuesday, he picked up the win while going six innings, allowing three earned runs on four hits, four walks and ten strikeouts! On Sunday, he picked up the loss while going six innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits, two walks and twelve strikeouts!

INF Adam Frazier had fourteen hits, four RBIs, and two walks. He saw his average climb to .364.

OF Mel Rojas Jr is hitting .252 since being demoted to the Curve. He collected five hits, two RBIs, two walks and struck out seven times this week.

1B Josh Bell is now batting .313. This week he collected seven hits, including a home run, four walks, four RBIs and five strikeouts.

2B Max Moroff saw his average drop slightly to .314. He collected four hits, one RBI and six strikeouts.

OF Stetson Allie had eight hits, including three home runs, nine RBIs, three walks, nine strikeouts and saw his average rise to .202.

3B Dan Gamache had thirteen hits, six RBIs, three walks and is hitting .338.

Jacob Stallings had two hits and one strikeout while lowering his average to .282.

INF Jose Osuna had ten hits, five RBIs, two walks and five strikeouts. He is now hitting  .302.

RHP Jason Creasy had two starts this week that resulted in losses. On Monday, he went 6.1 innings and allowed three earned runs on seven hits, walked three and struck out two. On Saturday, he went just three innings. He allowed seven earned runs on six hits, three walks and just one strike out.

RHP Chad Kuhl picked up a win this week. He went 5.2 innings, allowing just two earned runs on five hits, four walks and seven strike outs.

A look at next week:

The Curve will enjoy the week at home. They will start the week with a three game series with the Richmond Flying Squirrels. Then the Akron RubberDucks will visit for a four game series.

We now heat up as we head south for a look at the Advanced A Bradenton Marauders.
