The series against the Cardinals didn’t go as planned for the Pirates, but there is no rest for the weary as the Pirates go from one first place team to another as they went to New York to take on the Mets. The Mets have surprised the baseball world by leading the NL East over the Washington Nationals.

The Pirates have dominated the NL East this season and looked to continue that stellar play against the Mets. The last time these two played at PNC Park, the Pirates swept the Mets and never trailed in the series. They looked for similar results without any of their top pitchers on the mound.

J.A. Happ looked to get the Pirates off to a good start in the series.
