The Pittsburgh Pirates dismantled the Giants on National TV and looked damn good doing it. They didn’t play their best series by any means, but it was good enough to win three of four against the defending World Champions. The Pirates had a very brutal stretch against the best of the National League and came out looking like a legitimate World Series contender as they went 13-5 against the current crop of NL playoff contenders.

The Pirates have looked awesome against some quality opponents, but the Pirates need to focus their attention on a struggling Marlins team and keep winning. It’s really easy to focus when you’re playing another great team, but the Pirates must keep the same intensity against a very poor Marlins team. You can’t overlook any Big League club as any team can beat another on any given day.

The Pirates looked to get the series started well with a surprising and surging J.A. Happ.
