Short-Season A West Virginia Black Bears

The West Virginia Black Bears finished the week by going 4-1  The Black Bears completed the three game sweep over the Batavia Muckdogs. The Black Bears then hosted the Mahoning Valley Scrappers where they split the first two games of the series before taking the finale on Saturday night from the Scrappers. The Black Bears dropped the first game at Batavia to the Muckdogs on Sunday.

Williamsport Crosscutters – 43-25

West Virginia Black Bears – 36-32

State College Spikes – 35-33

Auburn Doubledays – 31-35

Mahoning Valley Scrappers – 30-37

Batavia Muckdogs – 28-39

Players that stood out:

3B Ke’Bryan Hayes has seen action in four games since his promotion. He has one hit, three RBIs, three walks, scored three runs and struck out three times.

1B Carlos Munoz saw action in just one game since his promotion. He hit a home run, scored two runs and struck out once.

OF Logan Hill is currently hitting .296 with an OPS of .892. He had three hits, including a home run, two RBIs, two stolen bases and four strikeouts.

OF Ty Moore is currently hitting .282 with an OPS of .721. He had eight hits, two RBIs, two walks and five strikeouts.

C Daniel Arribas is currently hitting .270 with an OPS of .699. He had eight hits, including a home run, four RBIs, seven walks, one stolen base and three strikeouts.

1B Albert Baur is currently hitting .276. He had six hits, two RBIs, six walks, and two strikeouts.

2B Mitchell Tolman is currently hitting .283. He had seven hits, five RBIs and five strikeouts.

RHP Dario Agrazal is tied for the team lead with five wins and has thrown seventy innings.

RHP JT Brubaker is now tied for the team lead with five wins.

LHP Cesilio Pimentel leads the team with fifty-five strikeouts and four saves.

RHP Julio Eusebio also has four saves.

LHP Andy Otamendi, RHP Edgar Santana and LHP Sean Keselica each have three saves.

RHP Nick Hibbing leads the team with a 1.24 ERA.(minimum 10 innings pitched) He has thrown 36.1 innings.

LHP Brandon Waddell had a no decision and a loss.

A Look At Next Week:

The Black Bears will continue the road trip that started on Sunday in Batavia with the Muckdogs. Then Wednesday, they return home for the final home series of the season against the division leading Williamsport Crosscutters. Then they will hit the road for the final series of the regular season at the Mahoning Valley Scrappers.
