Class-A West Virginia Power

The West Virginia Power went 6-2 over the last week. The Power took two of three games from the Lexington Legends. The Power wrapped up the regular season by taking four of five from the Kannapolis Intimidators. The Power have clinched the division and will be in the playoffs.

South Atlantic League North Division Standings: 

West Virginia Power – 50-20 (87-52)

Players that stood out:

SS Kevin Newman is batting .306 since being called up. He had ten hits, two RBIs, three walks, three stolen bases and two strikeouts.

3B Kevin Kramer is currently hitting .234 since his promotion. He had six hits, one walk, three stolen bases and four strikeouts.

OF Michael Suchy saw his average drop slightly to .275 while collecting four hits, three RBIs, five walks and ten strikeouts.

INF Jerrick Suiter had his average climb to .299 while collecting thirteen hits, five RBIs, five walks and four strikeouts.

OF Elvis Escobar saw his average remain at .296. He had eight hits, including a home run, eleven RBIs, two stolen base, two walks and five strikeouts.

INF Chase Simpson is now batting .247. He had five hits, five RBIs, three walks and ten strikeouts.

INF Jordan Luplow is on the disabled list.

RHP Austin Coley leads the team with sixteen wins. He also had 111 strikeouts.

RHP Yeudy Garcia had twelve wins and led the team with 112 strikeouts.

LHP Stephen Tarpley had eleven wins and 105 strikeouts.

RHP Nick Neumann leads the team with seventeen saves on the season.

A look at next week:

The Power will host Game 1 of their playoff series with the Hickory Crawdads on Wednesday. Then, the series will go to Hickory for Game 2 and 3 (if necessary). The winner of this series will play the winner of the Savannah Sand Gnats/Asheville Tourists series in the championship series.

Next, we look at the newest member of the farm system with the Short-Season A West Virginia Black Bears.
