Short-Season A West Virginia Black Bears

The West Virginia Black Bears finished the week by going 6-2. The Black Bears wrapped up the series with the Batavia Muckdogs, the series ended up going to Batavia 2-1. The Black Bears then came home and took two of three from the first place Williamsport Crosscutters. In the final series of the regular season, the Black Bears went to Mahoning Valley and completed the three game sweep over the Scrappers to clinch the Wild Card!

Players that stood out:

3B Ke’Bryan Hayes is currently hitting .220 since his promotion. He had eight hits, four RBIs, three walks, four strikeouts and a stolen base.

1B Carlos Munoz is hitting .150 since his promotion. He had two hits, two RBIs, seven walks and six strikeouts.

OF Logan Hill is currently hitting .297 with an OPS of .881. He had five hits, three RBIs, one stolen base, one walk and six strikeouts.

OF Ty Moore is currently hitting .277 with an OPS of .704. He had eight hits, four RBIs, six walks and four strikeouts.

C Daniel Arribas is currently hitting .284 with an OPS of .736. He had eleven hits, including a home run, six RBIs, four walks and six strikeouts.

1B Albert Baur is currently hitting .276. He had four hits, one RBI, one walk and four strikeouts.

2B Mitchell Tolman is currently hitting .304. He had twelve hits, four RBIs, three walks and three strikeouts.

RHP Dario Agrazal is tied for the team lead with six wins and has thrown seventy-six innings.

RHP JT Brubaker is now tied for the team lead with six wins.

RHP Juan Paula is also tied for the team lead with six wins.

LHP Cesilio Pimentel leads the team with sixty-three strikeouts

RHP Julio Eusebio leads the team with five saves.

LHP Andy Otamendi, RHP Edgar Santana and LHP Sean Keselica each have three saves.

RHP Nick Hibbing leads the team with a 1.70 ERA.(minimum 10 innings pitched) He has thrown 36.1 innings.

LHP Brandon Waddell picked up his first win this week.

A Look At Next Week:

The Black Bears have clinched the Wild Card and will host Game One of the Semifinal Championship Series on Wednesday night against the Williamsport Crosscutters. The best of three series will then move to Williamsport for Game Two and Game Three. The winner of this series will play the winner of the Tri-City ValleyCats/Staten Island Yankees series in the championship series.
