Not Bringing Back Travis Snider:

As more time passed in the off-season it became clear that Travis Snider would be back in black and gold for 2016.  The Pirates went the whole off-season without having a clear left-handed outfield bench player.

Snider, who had his best years of his career in Pittsburgh, seemed destined to return after his one month stint with the Bucs last year.

In 18 games last year Snider hit below the Mendoza Line at .192 with a low .699 OPS.  Instead of the Pirates bringing him back he signed a Minor League deal with the Royals.  Snider is now playing for the Royal’s triple-a affiliate.
