The 2017 Pittsburgh Pirates have now played 81 games, marking the halfway point of their season. Who have been the high low points for the Bucs thus far?

Believe it or not, the 2017 Major League Baseball season is already halfway over. Yesterday’s difficult 2-1 extra inning loss to the San Francisco Giants was game number 81 for the 2017 Pittsburgh Baseball Club. With the loss, the Pirates hit the halfway mark with a 37-44 record.

Despite being 7 games under .500, the Pittsburgh Pirates remain firmly in the hunt in the National League Central. Entering play on Sunday they find themselves just 6 games behind the first place Milwaukee Brewers. While 6 games may sound like a large deficit, it is far from it. Especially on July 2nd.

With the season now being halfway finished, Pirate fans can begin to look at the highs and lows of the 2017 season thus far. Earlier this week, Joe took a look at his mid-season awards in his ‘State of the Pirates 2.0’ article. Today, I will do the same.
